Becoming a Power Ranger
When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?
As I mentioned before, my family and I are currently in Hawaii. I don’t think I’m the only one who feels happy just by being in Hawaii. So, I asked my mother about this question and it seems that when I was five years old, I said I wanted to become a Power Ranger when I grew up. It was a childish answer, but it made me feel relieved. On the other hand, there is also a negative connotation of brainwashing from the media. However, I think that the media has become more diversified and has depicted various perspectives. There are now videos where justice becomes evil and evil becomes justice, not just about good versus evil.
Now that I have grown up, unfortunately, I have not become a Power Ranger. However, I have decided to become someone who can save many people from now on.

先日もお伝えいたしましたが、今家族とハワイに来ています。ハワイにいるだけで幸せな気持ちになるのは私だけではないと思います。そこで、私の母に今回の質問を聞いてみましたところ、私が5歳の時に大人になったら スーパー戦隊になりたいと言っていたようです。子供らしい答えが返ってきたので、安心しました。反対にメディアからの洗脳と言う聞こえの悪い表し方もありますが。しかし、最近のメディアは多様化し、色々な視点を描いたものになってきていると思います。正義と悪だけではなく、正義も悪になるし、悪も正義になるような動画も増えてきていると思います。
さて、大人になった私は残念ながらスーパー戦隊にはなっていません。しかし、これからは沢山の人を救っていけれるような人になろうと思いました。

You’re not the only one. I remember taking care of a young boy in my medical practice. He was very interested in all my tools as I was doing my exam. I asked him if he was going to become a doctor and come work with me when he grew up. He gave me a withering glance and said “I’m going to be a green power ranger” HIs mom and I laughed very hard at my comeuppance!
Thank you for your comment. It’s funny to imagine giving someone a withering glance and saying they want to be a green power ranger. It’s cute that he was so serious about it even though he was just a child.
However, it’s possible that he might become a doctor in the future and become a hero who saves many people.

It seems that I wanted to be the Red Ranger. How about Willow, who did you like?
I never watched them, honestly, but my kids did. One wanted to be the yellow and one wanted to be the black.
