Olympic Soccer: A Glimpse into World Cup’s Future

What Olympic sports do you enjoy watching the most?

It’s difficult for me to pick just one favorite Olympic sport, but I have to say soccer is at the top of my list. In the Olympic men’s soccer competition, each country typically sends a team composed of players who are 23 years old or younger, along with three overage players.

I think this makes for a game that gives us a glimpse into the future strength of the World Cup. We might even get a chance to see who the next superstars will be. What’s your favorite Olympic sport?

私は、オリンピック競技で一番を決めるのは難しいですが、やはりサッカーに軍配があがります。オリンピックの男子サッカー競技では、各国が23歳以下の選手にオーバーエイジ3名を加えた代表チームで参加することが通常ですので、W杯の未来の強さの縮図が予想できる試合になると思います。今後生まれてくるスーパースターが誰なのかも知れることになると思います。皆さんはどの競技が一番好きですか?

    That’s right, the sport we call “soccer” can be referred to as “football” in other countries. In my home country of Japan, it is commonly called “soccer.”⚽️
