Living in Canada without Citizenship: My Journey to Rediscovering the Importance of Voting

Do you vote in political elections?

I am currently residing in Canada, a place I now call home. However, as I do not hold Canadian citizenship, I am not eligible to vote in Canadian elections. When I lived in Japan, I actively participated in the voting process. Since moving abroad, I have not cast a vote in any overseas elections.

Recently, I discovered that expatriates can now vote via the internet. This newfound knowledge has inspired me to re-engage with the political process and make my voice heard once more. I am grateful for this opportunity and am eager to contribute to the democratic process, even from afar.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
